Yes, there's no protocol specific to a build.

I must be doing something wrong. I've tried Devo 6 ver 5 and latest nightly. And Devo8 ver 5 (which is said to be same as 6). All have only the Frequency and Telemetry ON/OFF as options when tapping Hubsan4.

Yes you must be doing something wrong, are you sure you're flashing the .dfu actually ?

You can also try this one, it's my current working branch, nightly + afhds 2a protocol: www.dropbox.com/s/srnp2oux23htjh0/deviat...0.0-e541061.zip?dl=1

Ok. I WAS doing something wrong! I updated without the dfu. Not sure when the dfu is necessary, but when I did the full upgrade/update with the Walkera DFU software, the new options appeared.

Will do some more testing, but binding seem to occur on both 107 and 501. Plane is in 'stabilized' mode. Need a way to switch to 'Manual'. Will try the LED channel to see if that has the same effect.

Thanks for your patience!

If you've got a 6, then you aren't updating if you aren't using the dfu. That's where the software is. You can sometimes get away with just flashing the dfu, as the file system stuff (fonts, icon images, default config files) generally doesn't change except to match the dfu file, and the exceptions usually fail "soft", but updating the file system without updating the dfu is just a config change - to one that may not work on an older version of the software.

This is not true of the 7E and some of the newer video Tx's.

Do not ask me questions via PM. Ask in the forums, where I'll answer if I can.

Should the 501 code work with the H502e/s models? Anyone tried it?
thanks.

Hi Goebish,

I got the Analyzer and hooked it up to the Hubsan h301s Tx as shown in attached pictures of the PCB and 7105 module. I need guidance on setting up the Saleae software. I've added a screen shot of the inputs: Sample rates, duration, etc.

1. What parameters for the Logic 4? (is four connections enough? or do we do all 8?)
2. What tests do you need?

Also, I'm using the Logic 1.2.10 software - is that OK?

Thanks!
Tom

@thearne3:

4 wires are required:
- GND
- SDIO
- SCK
- SCS

Use 16 Msamples / second, 5-10 seconds duration is fine usually, but it depends what you're capturing.

First try to bind it using H501 format. Does the H301 has a bind sequence (as the H501), or is it autobind (as H107) ?
edit: according to the manual, you've to bind manually, so select H501 format option in Deviation then press Bind, then connect the battery to the airplane.

@doctortim: I only have a H502 FC (nice FC, I'm pretty sure it could run Cleanflight ;)), it seems to bind with the H501 protocol format option. This has to be confirmed with an actual quad.

Ok. Not sure I got the correct channels. If left 4 pins on TX are GND 1, SCK 2, SCS 3, SDIO 4, then I have:

GND - pin 1 on A7105
CH1 - pin 3 " - SCS
CH2 - pin 4 " - SDIO
CH3 - Pin 2 " - SCK

Here is a screen shot of the Channels. Does it look right? Tx on, no bind.

Strange: Plane binds with EITHER 501 or 107 options under Hubsan.

Thanks!

hmmm, looks like only SCK is fine, not sure why because your wiring seems correct.
Some machines can bind with both protocol format, that's normal.
But what's the problem if the H301s already binds ? Controls don't work ? Missing features ?

Controls work in Stabilized Mode only.

The Spy Hawk H301s has Stabilized and Manual modes, as well as RTH, LED on/off and Video ON/Off (no stills). Minimal safe flying would include control of RTH. If control is lost, it will enter RTH automatically and come back to Home - but not land. The operator must switch RTH off and land. Unlike the 501, there is no Follow Me, of course.

In addition, It would be great to have control of Stabilized/Manual, LED and Video switches.

Finally, the GPS information is important to me.

Any suggestions for getting SCS and SDIO corrected? Can you refer me to a screen shot or file that shows 'normal'? I looked at the H501s files on page 5 of this thread and noticed that Channel 2/ SDIO has no activity at all. Is that normal?

Thanks!

Here is a link. Recorded: Bind, RTH ON, RTH OFF, LED on, LED off, STAB TO MANUAL, MANUAL TO STAB, VIDEO ON, VIDEO OFF. RTH and LED are flip switches. Stab/Man is a button (press/press again). Video on/off is a button (press/press again).

Thanks!

Yeah, looks fine now :)
(your MISO line is SCS actually)

I'll need a few more info:
- if you change txid, does it still bind with H107 format ?
- can you make 1 capture file per command please ?

Note that I may not have the time to work on that right now, but I'll try my best ;)

OK!

I changed the TXiD and it still binds on H107.

So should I swap white and purple? CH1 and CH2?

I will set up the following separate commands:
On/Bind
LED (on from off, which is default)
RTH (on from off, which is default)
STAB/Manual (Manual from Stabilized, which is default)
Video (on from off, which is default)

Thanks!

You can keep the wires as they are, that's not an issue.

Ok.

I've created five command files for the H301s:

On/Bind
LED (on from off, which is default) and back/off
RTH (on from off, which is default) and back/off
STAB/Manual (Manual from Stabilized, which is default) and back to Stab
Video (on from off, which is default) and back/off
