Done, working well for me! Only a slight HW issue on my end (the up position of my SWC is failing but I can still test as I can physically hold the switch in position. 10pk of GOOD paddle type ON-OFF-ON switches ordered)

@Cereal_killer, could you do me a favour and test also with your switch setup?

@cereal_killer (you fly so much, you've killed the switches?
) and @fernandez, thanks for testing guys!
I'm at a bit of a loss. I thought i had sorted it out. Might need to ponder a bit.
@dc59 and @fluxedmatter, you guys have the 2x3-way mod too, same as fernandez right? Are you experiencing the same problem?

That was fast. Thanks dc59!
@Fernandez, could you confirm that you see HOLD, FMOD, SW A, and SW B (only, no other switches) in Channel Monitor. I want to make sure you are getting to the correct part of code.
Also try loading the Devo7e build (not u7e, possibly try the stable 5.0.0 release branch) to see if the problem is still there. If it is, we'll need to look at your wiring and mcu soldering for crimps or shorts.

Not the best movie, but just to show you the issue, as example movie of what is detected when.
My switch problem is also in channel monitor and real output of Rx.

@silpstream
Sorry,need to update test result.
I reboot TX and calibrate stick, swith function is not working good, it fixed at "RUD" and can't be changed, for example if I switch it to hold1 , it wil switch to hold1 for 0.1 sec and then change back to "RUD"

@dc59, that's a really weird bug. Could you post a video of it? Also which was the last working build you used? does it still work?

I tried ed27f5f , it still has the same problem, until now it can work fine with your May 25 build.
By the way, dose this new build solve exit problem after stick calibration? It seems to be ok now.

Hey guys, could you test
deviation-devo7e-256-v5.0.0-20160610.zip
? File expands to show "6a7c620" still.
I made some more changes. Hopefully it's caught now.
Really sorry for the trouble, now I know why PB has so many transmitters. Debugging is a PITA without the hardware.
Thanks for your patience!

i don't think there has been any changes to silpstream's switch handling code between the may25th build and the june4th build so there must be something else causing this issue (maybe the menu/switch handling changes for at9 compatibility, or the fast scrolling feature in the model menu?)
and yes the all the existing exit problems have been fixed, but i have found a new one in the model menu, if you load a model, then change the protocol to one that has sub options, go into the sub option menu, exit back to the model menu, you then can't exit back out to the main menu, i think this bug appeared when pb added the fast scrolling, i'm about to post a bug for it just now

I trided "deviation-devo7e-256-v5.0.0-20160610.zip " and it became worse ! only "L-" button works , all other buttons don't work and "L-" acted as "ENT"
I also tried HappyHarry's test build 31st May - deviation-devo7e-256-v5.0.0-720b78f it works fine and 9 June latest NB(non Ultimate version) works OK, have no ideal what happen?
edit : Sorry, test build 31st May - 720b78f also has same bug after more testing ................ I'll do more test on 25th May test build to confirm that.

Can you confirm that that firmware works, with the old 2x3 and 2x2 way modification for 7e?
That 3way work always what even the condition of 2 way?

We're quite sure now that HappyHarry's 25May works for both types of switch mods. That's the last build before the new switch code (that broke the original switch mod)was released.
I've found the problem with the code that needs to be fixed. Basically I was too ambitious while trying to retain compatibility for the original mod.
The new mod uses the same pins but with different wiring. I'm trying to retain the same name space "extra-switches=3x2" and "hardware.ini" only loads after buttons and channels are initialised in "main.c". I probably have to fully separate them and possibly look at moving the ini load event to a higher position in the transmitter initialisation sequence.
I'll be rolling things back and starting again. I'll try to put something together this weekend.

would it work if the wiring of the existing mod was changed to suit your code? as in getting new finctionality for the rf modules the wiring for them changed between pre 4.01 and post 4.01, so it's not too much to expect the swapping of a few wires for the switches when doing the u7e upgrade. as it seems a bit much to scrap perfectly working code over moving a couple of wires imo?

@HappyHarry, you're probably right about it being trivial to do a switch mod as part of the mcu mod and we could probably drop the need to support the stock 7e version of the switch mod. In looking at the code more, I think we might have to do that in order to have more configurations of switch combinations, similar to what fernandez is looking for. Hopefully we don't get too much push back when that happens.
I've not actually trashed the code as I went through things again on my bus ride home, and realised I had might have made a few wrong assumptions. That plus syntax errors where "&" was "&&" (bitwise vs conditional).
So I've put up deviation-devo7e-256-v5.0.0-20160611 .
U7E based switch mods still work for me.
@dc59 & @fernandez, let me know how it goes for the stock7e based mod.
Thanks everyone!

Full credits, Yes it works!!! U7E works in its old switch config. 2x2, 2x3
But now is the question, how to wire new final switches into the 7e, I have space for two more.....
BTW these are the tiny ones, which form factor I used to get them on top. they are smaller than the stock switches.
